Are you up for a challenge?
BY GULL LAKE ADVANCE
Are you up to the challenge? Does your community have the most active kids in the province? Gull Lake and Maple Creek residents seem to think so. The two southwest communities are trying to win $10,000 to go towards community projects
If Gull Lake is declared the winner of the 2013 Community Challenge, they will increase physical activity for the kids in their community by installing an ENERGI Prime Total Body Fitness System in the park for everyone to use. The equipment provides a fun and exciting way to improve health and fitness levels through movements used in every day activities.
If Maple Creek is declared the winner of the 2013 Community Challenge, they will increase physical activity for the kids in their community by installing new play equipment at the Sidney Street School and Community Playground. Our goal is to help motivate and entice kids to be active and provide a safe play area that will continue to build active kids, which may lead to active adults.
Gull Lake had a Community Walk on Saturday afternoon lead by Mayor Blake Campbell.
“I’m very pleased with the turnout today. I want to encourage all the residents to sign up for the inMotion Challenge; let’s get everybody out exercising as much as we can, log your minutes and win this challenge for Gull Lake,” said Campbell.
Currently Gull Lake sits in 5th position and Maple Creek is in 7th out of 27 communities across the province. The challenge ends March 15, so let’s get active. In Gull Lake call Sara at 306-672-4449 for more info.
