Gull Lake Celebrates Earth Day with a Community Wide Cleanup

Monday, April 22nd is Earth Day a time when events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. This year Gull Lake will be doing its part for the environment by having a community wide clean-up. Residents are being encouraged to participate by stopping in at the Town Office on Earthday and picking up a garbage bag, go for a walk and pick up some garbage in the streets, alleys, and public spaces. You can also take the opportunity to clean up your property, and to help the Town will have the Garbage Disposal Site open from 9 AM to 6 PM on Earthday, and there will NO CHARGE for refuse originating from the Town of Gull Lake Limits.

The Earthday community cleanup event will give our Communities in Bloom Program a good start with everyone doing their part to help clean up our community. When the Community in Blooms judges come later this summer they will evaluate our community in eight key areas. Tidiness, and Community Participation are two key areas that will help get the best possible score for Gull Lake.

Gull Lake has no shortage of community pride, and volunteers that get behind projects that benefit the community. So this Earthday lets all do our part for the environment and community by participating in the community wide clean up.
