Saskatchewan’s economy grew 2.2% in 2012

Saskatchewan’s economy as measured by real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.2 per cent in 2012, following a five-per-cent increase in 2011, Statistics Canada reported Friday. “Record oil and gas production more than offset declines in non-metallic mineral mining (which includes potash mining),’’ the federal agency said. “Manufacturing output advanced 9.2 per cent with increases in machinery, wood products, chemicals and transportation equipment manufacturing.” via Leader-Post – Business
