Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures Highly Touted Tourism Spot
Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures was proven to be a highly touted tourism spot in Saskatchewan by taking home two awards from the Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala.
The Gala was held in Regina this past week, and the company was honoured with two individual awards, including the Fred Heal Tourism Ambassador Award, which was given to President/CEO and founder of the company, Jori Kirk, as well as the Service Excellence Award, which was given to senior canopy tour guide, Krista Berg.
Kirk opened up Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures in July 2011, and since then, the company has attracted so much attention and positive response.
He said although he can’t put his finger on why it’s so successful, he believes it drives back to the passion and love for the area and for what they do.
“It just kind of boils down to as a company, and they type of people that come out here and work with us,” Kirk reflected, “we all kind of share a love for the outdoors, and we’re all kind of kids at heart, and I think that’s what boils down to, when people come out and spend a day with us and play in the trees, they all kind of find that happy dance.”
In addition to Kirk’s work with Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures, he is also the interim marketing coordinator for the Cypress Hills area, with that he mentors other young entrepreneurs in the area, and he is extremely passionate and loves his work he does within the region.
