Anderson appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs
Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced Sept. 19 the appointment of David Anderson, Member of Parliament for Cypress Hills-Grasslands to the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“It is an honour to be assigned this portfolio and I am pleased to be promoted to Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs” said Anderson. “Under Stephen Harper Canada has achieved new heights as a leader in international affairs. Canada’s efforts abroad have always been important to me and I am glad to have the opportunity to work with Minister John Baird on these files.”
Anderson has been an active advocate of important international initiatives such as free trade, freedom of religion and international economic development. He anticipates that his role as Parliamentary Secretary will help to advance Canada’s position on these and other issues in the future.
