Ghost Security Services to Provide Bylaw Enforcement for Gull Lake

For some time now Gull Lake has been without a bylaw enforcement officer and recruiting has been difficult. Ghost Security Services out of Swift Current now provides bylaw enforcement and the Town will be enlisting them to provide local bylaw enforcement.

If all goes well our new bylaw enforcement officer will be providing part time bylaw enforcement services as early as next week. Council will monitor the level of bylaw enforcement needed, and adjust the level as required.

Ghost Security Services will be enforcing all municipal bylaws including those relating to parking, unsightly premises and snow removal.  Council is looking forward to working with Ghost Security Services to help provide this important service to our community.

Town of Gull Lake Showcased at Head start on Home Forum

The Gull Lake Economic Development Committee showcased the town in a 15 minute video created by Craig and Layla Baird and narrated by Jason Hall at Head Start on a Home forum at Living Sky Casino on Thursday, Nov. 21. The video showcased our Town with interviews from local business people, high school principal, Kreative Kids Day Care manager, and Mayor Blake Campbell.

The video also contained a number of shots of the Town and local area and contained information such as population, number of businesses and other statistics relating to the local economy of the town.  At the end of the video Mayor Campbell spoke briefly about Councils plans to market the Centennial Subdivision, and the growing demand for Rental Property both of which would benefit with from affordable entry level housing.

The Economic Development Committee was very pleased with the forum, and the presentation. The forum was a great opportunity to showcase our community to potential builders and developers.  The Town also received positive comments by the Master of Ceremonies of the Forum who suggested people at the forum check out the Towns Website, which she found very informative. The video presentation is now available for viewing on the Town of Gull Lake website.

The Head Start on a Home Program was created by the Government of Saskatchewan to address the needs of entry level housing in Saskatchewan.
