The daily Bob Hughes column (Nov. 15, 2003) | Regina Leader-Post
It is good for the commissioner to come to Saskatchewan because this is where the pulse of football in this country beats the strongest. Throughout the province, in the tiny places Tom Wright has never heard of, in places like Gull Lake and Shaunavon and Hudson Bay, there are kids playing football in nine-man leagues. Those leagues have produced CF of L all-stars and Hall of Famers with last names of Aldag and Poley. This is the province that has three national amateur football teams, each of which has made more than their mark on the game’s history books.
