At the tender age of 30, it appears that the Gull Lake Recreation Complex is in need of a make-over.
In April of this year, a Revitalization Project will kick off to raise community awareness and will be vital to the success of the project.
The Board is looking to establish partnerships with businesses and individuals who are interested in financial support either by purchasing naming rights at the Recreation Complex or making a donation towards the project, which includes replacement of the boards and glass, updates to the booth, arena lighting, dressing room and washroom renovations, a new score clock and other general maintenance.
President of the Gull Lake and Area Recreation Complex, Richie Bleau says the project is a worthwhile investment not just for the rink itself.
“The revitalization project is a major investment in not only our Recreation Complex, but in our community as a whole. The skating in rink in Gull Lake is one of the most used rec facilities in town and is the centre of most activities during the winter months. We, as a board, are super excited about doing some major projects in the rink. It will help to ensure that our rink remains a very important community asset.”
The mission of the Gull Lake and Area Recreation Complex is to continue to promote and encourage opportunities for a fit and healthy lifestyle by providing year round recreation and activities to all our residents as well as those in neighbouring communities.
