Sask., Alta. lead with 3.7% job vacancy rate

The job vacancy rate was highest in Saskatchewan and Alberta at 3.7 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2013, according to the latest “help wanted” report from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) released Wednesday. In other words, close to four per cent of jobs, including 12,400 in Saskatchewan and 59,000 in Alberta, remained unfilled for four months or more due to lack of suitable applicants.
