New Internal Medicine Specialist Recruited
Dr. Mohsen El Ramah
The Cypress Health Region is pleased to announce another successful physician recruitment – an internal medicine specialist who is experienced in the field of nephrology has joined the medical team and is ready to play a role in providing quality health care to the residents of southwestern Saskatchewan.
Dr. Mohsen El Ramah, Internist/Nephrologist, has arrived in the health region and joined the physician specialist group at the Central Medical Clinic in Swift Current. He received his medical degree at the University of Cairo in 2002 and completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2010 while practicing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA. Completion of this residency provided him with an American Board Certification designation. He has recently completed his Fellowship in Nephrology in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.
“I am looking forward to building a successful practice here in the Cypress Health Region and working alongside my colleagues in internal medicine,” commented Dr. El Ramah. “It is my hope that my experiences and knowledge in nephrology will serve as a benefit to patients who currently have to travel out of town for these services, and that we will be able to provide that service right here close to their home.”
Grant Browne is the Medical Affairs Coordinator for the health region and feels that the addition of Dr. El Ramah will strengthen the internal medicine team. “His arrival will help to solidify the variety of expertise that the internist service will be able to provide to patients and other members of the medical team,” said Browne. “His visits to our health region and the Cypress Regional Hospital have been very positive, and he wants to be very active in his practice and do what he can to provide support to his colleagues.”
Brown added that the region has had some very optimistic discussions with other internal medicine specialists who are interested in joining the medical team. He acknowledged the extra efforts of the existing internist team who have been providing quality services over the past number of months.

Along with Dr. Serwadda and Dr. Khonje, Dr. El Ramah will provide internal medicine expertise to the residents of the southwest and to their physician colleagues who practice in the health region. He will be an active participant in the on-call schedule at the Cypress Regional Hospital and offer support for inpatients/outpatients at the facility.
Dr. El Ramah is married and has one child, with his wife expecting their second child later this spring. They are looking forward to getting settled into the community and becoming aware of the many treasures that southwestern Saskatchewan has to offer. His family enjoys travelling and is excited about the many landmarks and history that is part of Saskatchewan and Western Canada.
