Volunteers First Day Cleaning Up the Shoe Shop

(Mayor Blake Campbell, Craig Baird, Karen Stusrud, Elder Blackburn, Elder Sorenson)

Today was the start of cleaning, and organizing the Wong Guy Shoe Shop. Volunteers started the task in order to get the Shoe Shop ready for its dedication as a Heritage Property later this summer.  The group had a lot of fun cleaning, and organizing the shop trying to get it looking like it would have when it was open.  A great deal of time was spent just looking at the many interesting items that the Shoe Shop contains.

A great deal of work was also done, but there is still a lot more to do, and the group will be having several cleaning bees before the dedication later this summer. The restoration of the Shoe Shop will be a long term project that will take a number of years to complete. If you or someone you know would be interested in helping with the cleanup, or would like to sit on our Heritage Committee please call me anytime (306)672-7499.
