On August 23rd and 24th, everyone in the province, including visitors, will be able to fish without having to buy a licence.

After flooding and heavy rain disrupted the last free fishing weekend, put on by the Saskatchewan government in July, they decided to try it again.

Extreme weather hit many areas of the province last month and led to an advisory for boaters to stay off a number of lakes.

Fishing in Saskatchewan attracts many visitors to the province, and the government says it generates more than $300 million annually.
