Potential ‘Sask First’ Option for Campsites

Saskatchewan residents could soon have first choice on campsites at Provincial Parks, including Saskatchewan Landing
If you plan on going camping next summer, you may get the first opportunity to book a campsite over out-of-province tourists.
The suggestion came about after a discussion that Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Mark Docherty had about how deeply Saskatchewan residents care about the park system.
“This is just the start of it,” said Docherty. “Based on the responses on Twitter it is obvious that people do care deeply about this issue and it is fairly split.”
Docherty says that the “Sask First” option is in the very preliminary stages, and that they are still asking for input. If you’d like to submit your opinion, you can do so by visiting the Government of Saskatchewan website.
He adds out-of-province campers are also important to Saskatchewan’s tourism industry, so this decision will be weighed carefully.
