Sask. inflation hits 2.5% in October

REGINA — Saskatchewan posted an inflation rate of 2.5 per cent in October, third-highest among the provinces and ahead of the province’s 2.2 per cent increase in the consumer price index (CPI) in September, Statistics Canada said Friday. Between September and October, consumer prices in Saskatchewan rose by 0.5 per cent — the largest monthly increase of any province and far above the national average of 0.1 per cent, said United Steelworkers economist Erin Weir.
