South West Terminal (SWT) presented Farm Credit Canada’s Drive Away Hunger program with a cheque for $25,372.10 last week in support of local food banks. Producers delivering to SWT this harvest had the opportunity to donate a portion of the cash proceeds to this year’s FCC Drive Away Hunger program – which raised over five-million pounds of food across Canada and over 634,000 pounds in Saskatchewan.
Out of the $25,372.10 donation today, $12,686.05 was raised from SWT customers and employees, and the other $12,686.05 was matched by the company. The donation is equivalent to over 50,000 pounds of food. 100 per cent of all Drive Away Hunger donations go towards local food banks.
