Take to the hills this New Years Day at the annual Tobogganing Party in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park.
Parks Area Naturalist, Melody Nagel-Hisey, says it’s good old family fun all while taking in the great outdoors.
“We have a toboggan hill that’s prepared and there’s a warm up shack, and on our Tobboggan Party day, we get fires going inside the warm up shack and outside, and people can roast hotdogs and marshmallows and have some hot chocolate while the kids are sliding down the hill. It’s lots of fun,” she said. “We had some cold weather, but that was okay, it kind of held our snow here and we’re expecting a little bit more snow, so it’ll keep everything white. We’re also preparing the cross country ski trails as well, so there’s a couple things to do: toboggan, little bit of snowshoeing if people like, and cross country skiing.”
Sledding is open from noon to 5pm, and toboggans will not be provided.
The Toboggan Hills are located behind the Visitor Centre.
