Elks Hall now has an AED

The Elks hall now has an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  An AED is a small user-friendly portable device used to treat a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Minutes count and early access to an AED can significantly increase the odds of a patient surviving a Sudden Cardiac Arrest.  In Canada Eighty-Five percent of cardiac arrests, occur outside of hospital making public places such as the Elks Hall ideal locations for AEDs.

There will be a FREE 2-hour training course this Thursday, June 11 at 2:30pm at the Elks Hall for anyone interested. AEDs are very user-friendly, and knowing how to use one could save someone’s life, so come on out and educate yourself!

Thanks to the Elks for their purchase of an AED for their Hall.

The Elks Hall is now the 4th facility in Gull Lake with and AED. AEDs can also be found in the Gull Lake Recreation Complex, Gull Lake Curling Rink and Crescent Point Swimming Pool.
