Dino Days 2015 kicks off today in the community of Eastend.
The 8th Golf and Curl Classic begins today, with the first draw at 11:30am and runs until Sunday afternoon. There are 30 teams registered this year and each team will golf three games and curl three games throughout the weekend. Larry Stork from the organizing committee says, “I think it`s just the uniqueness of it. It`s two very social sports and one that you don’t get to do very often in the middle of the summer, and everybody likes a round of golf.”
There will be fireworks tonight at the Town Campsite starting at dusk. Admission for that is by donation.
The pancake breakfast goes Saturday morning at 7:00am at the Rink with the kiddies parade and Dino Days Parade to follow.
The Disco Dance goes Saturday evening. Diane Dohei says, “The Dino Disco Dance is Saturday July 25th starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Eastend Memorial Hall and it`s part of our fundraising that we`re doing right now as we`re replacing our existing main building of the Museum Complex.”
Tickets for the dance are $20 in advance from Madhatters Flowers and Gifts or you can phone 306-295-3670 or 306-294-0159. Tickets will also be available for $25 at the door. There will be prizes awarded for the best dressed Disco Dancers.
Dino Days finishes up on Sunday with the Annual Light Horse Show starting at 8:00am at the Eastend Rodeo Grounds.
