Yearly surveys used by the Cypress Health Region to improve the quality of care patients received, will now only be issued once every two years.
CEO of the Cypress Health Region, Beth Vachon explains the reasoning for making the switch.
“Every year we did this big big survey and it gave us lot’s of really valuable information. So we would send the survey out in November. By the time all of the results came in and were compiled it would be February. So not that kinda just in time information that we are often looking for. So we decided that survey will be done every other year.”
Vachon also talks about the benefits the surveys provide.
” We also felt that it was important to be talking with people face to face. Getting that input and their suggestions for improvement and what is working really well and what they like about the kind of care that we give them. And then with that were often able to make adjustments kind of on the spot or in talking with the manager of staff or the cook.”
Vachon adds, the monthly survey remains a valuable tool, as the information gathered does not take a long period of time to be put in action.
