New motor vehicles sales in Sask. jumped 1.7% in June, thanks to trucks and SUVs

After three consecutive months of year-over-year declines, new motor vehicles sales in Saskatchewan were up 1.7 per cent in June to 5.068 units, compared with 4,984 for the same period last year, according to data released by Statistics Canada on Monday. But the jump in sales in June couldn’t offset the declines in March, April and May. As a result, total sales in the first half of 2015 were 26,582, down 4.3 per cent from 27,785 in the first half of 2014.
