Harvest ahead of average, but yield, quality below

Thanks to hot, dry weather this year, the 2015 harvest remains well head of the long-term average, with nine per cent of the combining and 10 per cent of the swathing competed as of Monday, according to the weekly crop report from Saskatchewan Agriculture. That compares to the five-year average of two per cent combined and the 10-year average of four per cent combined at this point in the growing season, the report said Thursday. In fact, at this time last year, only one per cent of the crop had been combined and four per cent swathed.
