Conference being held in centre of CCS expertise

About 165 delegates from 21 countries have journeyed to the “epicentre of carbon capture expertise’’ — Saskatchewan — this week to learn more about the province’s world-leading carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. The International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas (IEAGHG) program is holding its third Post-Combustion Capture Conference (PCCC3) in Regina, following similar conferences in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., in 2011 and Bergen, Norway, in 2013.John Gale, chair of London-based IEAGHG, which is organizing the two-day conference, said Saskatchewan is definitely at the forefront of post-combustion carbon capture and storage research and, more importantly, commercial-scale demonstrations of CCS technology.
