Energy industry risks losing battle to critics, Wall

Canada’s energy industry — and the pipeline sector in particular — must do a better job of getting out the facts and dispelling the myths or risk losing the battle for public opinion to opponents of fossil fuels, Premier Brad Wall told the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) fall conference here Thursday. “The other side have great scientific minds speaking out for them … like Neil Young and Daryl Hannah,’’ Wall quipped, referring to the two romantically-linked stars who have taken high-profile public stands against oilsands and pipeline projects.
