Fire Prevention Week October 4 to 10, 2015: Hear the BEEP Where You SLEEP

Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm. That’s the theme for this year’s campaign. During Fire Prevention Week, fire fighters in Saskatchewan will be telling people the importance of having a working smoke alarm. Did you know that many people don’t test their smoke alarms as often as they should? When there’s a fire, smoke spreads fast. You need working smoke alarms to give you time to get out. Test yours every month!

Fire Prevention Week is dedicated to educating the public about the importance of fire and life safety. Resource material is available free online from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Fire Prevention Canada. Materials include how-to guides for the fire service, lesson plans for teachers, activities for kids and families, media releases, graphics and lots more.
