Winterfest 2017 a Day of Fun Enjoyed by Everyone
The Winterfest 2017 event was successfully organized this month with many people attending the various events throughout the day. The pancake breakfast was also well attended thanks to the Gull Lake Elks, who prepare the meal.
Many people stopped by the park and watched snow sculptors Sarah McKen and Clayton Cave. They worked through the morning but had to stop for the afternoon due to the warm weather. They will be finishing the sculptures tomorrow morning before they leave.
Many people also enjoyed the horse-drawn wagon rides provided by Lost Valley Horse Trainers & Quarter Horses. The horse rides started at about 10:30 AM and ran until the later hours of the afternoon.
The Southwest Best Chocolate-Chip Cookie, Amazing Race, and Pie Eating Contest were well attended and a lot of fun for both participants and spectators.
Children’s Entertainer Keegan Duck performed in the afternoon to a full crowd in the Community Hall. The magic show performed by Keegan was a first-rate show enjoyed by everyone.
Kids also enjoyed the Crafts & Face Painting, Cookie Decorating, and Mini-Golf. Thanks to the great job done by the volunteers who worked at the stations.
The evening wrapped up with a Beef on a Bun Supper followed by a Bonfore, and S’mores. The highlight of the evening was the fireworks show that had drew a huge crowd of people to the Green Power Ball Diamonds.
I would like to congratulate to our Winterfest Committee Members, Sponsors, and Volunteers who helped make this event great for our community.
