Clairbank 4-H Club Report

Yay! A new year of 4-H fun!! We had our first general meeting Oct. 21, 2018. This year we have 22 members in Light Horse, Beef, Crafts, Woodworking and Car Care. The Bucheler, Emms, Haubrich, Hughes and Sloan families are five new families to our club this year! The Carlson, Hayne, Leppa, Myers, Swan, and Toney kids are back for another year. We elected a new executive for all the club jobs and went over the rules of being in 4-H and planned lots of fun activities. We were fortunate enough to get a grant from FCC and Crescent Point.

This year we have volunteered at the Lyceum Theatre, and sold baked goods, crafts and wood projects for the Gull Lake Craft Fair. We decorated at Christmas Cove, and we got to go to the Corn Ways Corn Maze. Last spring, our club planted potatoes and this fall we dug and donated the potatoes. Our members attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony. For our Christmas Party we had fun skating at the Tompkins Rink and had a Christmas “sock exchange”. There was a 4-H Swim Day in Swift Current Jan. 13.

Upcoming events include: Sr. Boys Curling Jan. 27, helping at the pancake breakfast/selling lunch at Hockey Day in Saskatchewan in Gull Lake Jan. 20, Public Speaking March 17, and 4-H Ski Day March 2. Various project meetings are also being held. Our next General Meeting will be Feb. 10 with fun curling after.
