Town Council Allocates Safe Restart Program Funds to Recreation Facilities

The Town of Gull Lake received $62,398.00 from the Federal Government Safe Restart Program. The funding is flexible and intended to help municipalities respond to Covid-19 measures needed to address critical needs over the next six to eight months.

Covid-19 measures will seriously impact our recreation facilities’ abilities to raise revenue to cover their operational costs.  The Gull Lake Seniors Club has also been unable to hold many fundraisers to help cover the operational costs of their hall. Town Council will distribute funds as follows:

The Gull Lake Recreation Complex: $37,438.00

The Crescent Point Swimming Pool: $12,480.00

The Gull Lake Curling Club: $9,360.00

The Gull Lake Senior Citizens Club: $3,120.00

Covid-19 has made 2020 a difficult year for everyone, and the Council was pleased to receive and disperse these funds to our community facilities.
