Step 1

Take Respect in Sport (RiS) Activity Leader online training via

RiS is an online training program designed to help Coaches and Activity Leaders recognize, understand and respond to issues of bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination. An electronic certificate will be issued after successful completion.

Step 2

Get valid Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks (CRC and VSC) from Gull Lake RCMP (Wednesdays) or Swift Current Rural Detachment.  These checks can be completed at the Gull Lake RCMP or Swift Current Rural detachment. You will require two (2) pieces of government identification, one of which must be photographic ID.


Step 3

Fill out a Youth Certified Application Form.


Step 4

Submit your satisfactory CRC & VSC, RiS certificate, and completed Youth Certified Application Form AND 2 PIECES OF ID (WITH AT LEAST 1 BEING PHOTO ID) to the Town Office.

Satisfactory completion of steps 1 thru 4 will allow the Safe Places Committee to process your application and provide you with a Youth Certified ID number and card.


Importing Your Swift Current Safe Places Certification

Gull Lake residents with Swift Current Safe Places – Youth Certification are encouraged to import their certification to Gull Lake Safe Places. As the Town of Gull Lake has adopted the Swift Current Safe Places Initiative, your certification is also valid in the City of Swift Current. By importing your certification to the Gull Lake Safe Places Program you will be helping us promote this important community-wide initiative designed to support quality programming while reducing potential risks to children and youth.  To import your existing Swift Current Safe Places Certification to Gull Lake Safe places follow these Steps:

1. Complete the Youth Certified Application Form, (click here) also available at the Town Office. Fill out the application form and select, “New Registration” under the “Application Type” section.

2. Take your application to the Town Office together with a copy of your current Swift Current Safe Places Card – Youth Certified Card for processing. Once the application has been processed you will receive your Gull Lake Safe Places – Youth Certified Card.
