Age: 45 years old.

Number of years in Gull Lake: 7 years.

Marital Status: Married

Tell us about your Family:
I have four adult children living in Saskatchewan and Alberta, with my youngest still attending the University of Saskatchewan majoring in Physics Engineering. I recently married my wife Trina, who started a new safety training business here and her daughter Sarah now attends Gull Lake School.

What is your occupation:
I’m the Network Administrator at the City of Swift Current. In a nutshell: I’m responsible for the reliability, security and accessibility of the digital information shared by all departments involved in governing and providing services for Swift Current. I’m also active in Employee Appreciation Committee planning and the management chair for the Occupational Health Committee (OHC).

Educational background:
I attended high school in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and followed that with courses in Business Administration, Micro Electronics / Consumer Electronics Repair at SIAST. I’ve achieved various IT related certifications and I’m currently studying Project Management with Ryerson University.

Community Involvement (Boards, Clubs, Organizations etc):
I have volunteered at the Lyceum Theatre with my son in the past, working the snack bar and my family looks forward to doing so again. Now that I have a child attending school here, I intend to be involved with various parental volunteer opportunities at the school when available.

What has (or continues) to motivate you to step forward and run for Town Council?
Gull Lake has been very good to me over the last 7 years. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the people around town and at the various businesses I frequent. When I got married this year and my wife moved here with her child, I decided that I want to help make this town the best it can be for them and foster a welcoming environment for others like them who have moved or who are thinking of moving to Gull Lake. This town is a great place and I see it growing with new businesses and all kinds of interesting people, I want to see that continue into the future.

Other information about yourself that you would like to share:
When the time came to purchase my first home, I looked at Swift Current and many of the surrounding communities. Gull Lake was a natural choice for me, it had everything one could possibly need all in one community and housing prices were still affordable. I look back at that decision as a turning point in my life. I became part of a vibrant, inviting and friendly community that cares about each other. I feel so strongly about this I had no doubts that Gull Lake was the perfect place to live with my new family and I’m sure this is where I will retire. I want to help make sure this town stays the safe, friendly place it is and watch it continue to grow into the future.
